Scheduled - Network Services will be performing maintenance on the Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) router at PDC that supports inbound and outbound voice calling. There is no expected service impact during this maintenance.

Identified - Users may experience intermittent connectivity issues today when accessing the visitor management system (VMS). Per the VMS platform vendor, Salesforce, there is an issue with their underlying technical infrastructure at their data centers. Salesforce technicians are performing rolling server reboots which they expect to complete over the next 6-8 hours.

Scheduled - Beginning at 6:00pm this evening (11/29/21), a software upgrade will be performed on two network switches. This will address software defects that are impacting services. These two network switches provide services to the second floor of Tudor Field House (upgrade scheduled for 6:00pm) and to the second floor of Herman Brown Hall (upgrade scheduled for 6:30pm). Services will be impacted for an estimated 30 minutes while the upgrade is performed.

Scheduled - OIT will be undergoing scheduled maintenance of RiceMail, the Rice central mail system. We will update the routing on the Rice email gateway for email that users who have authenticated to RiceMail (smtp.mail.rice.edu) send to Rice Gmail users. A different set of IP addresses will be configured for sending the email, allowing us to configure Rice Gmail to differentiate between authenticated email and anonymous incoming email.

There will be no service outage.
